about me?

All that we see is a mere manipulation of light.  Light bouncing (scientifically) behind the thin layer of tissue called the cornea.  The act of drawing and painting can be laborious and sometimes painful.  My wrist stiffness may be a testament to my hard work, or it may be explained away with a shake of the head and a disappointed reminder by my instructor to fix my posture.  But the time and heart poured into the canvases and papers are undeniable.  In the end, what I make meets your eye for only a moment.  When I do it right, that moment will stick.

As you view my galleries, you may notice a theme running throughout. My drawings and paintings largely explore the human condition. The human form is a vessel used to display the intensity of human emotion. I am particularly interested in how altering and distorting the human body affects our psyche and evokes introspection.

All that being said, I invite you to view my art through your own unique corneas, and take away whatever you so desire.

if you’re really curious...

I was born and raised in Pennsylvania.  Following my primary and secondary education, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Applied Math from Johns Hopkins University.  During college, I also studied visual arts as an academic minor.  This tertiary stage of my education was the first time I was able to find a more rigorous motivation for practicing art. At the end of the day, it will always be a hobby and more importantly, an outlet (i.e. a more responsible way to cope).

Outside of making art, I like to experience nature and read.
